Vineyard Particulars

The vines planted in the rich, rocky, red soil of Bonino Estate Vineyards must work hard, to grow deep roots and obtain water. These conditions, combined with the warm sun of the southwest exposure of Sonoma Valley render hearty grapes with mild, complex flavors that result in a soft, young growth wine infused with the essences of plum and dark cherry.

Vineyard Management

Bonino Estate Vineyards vineyard management is provided by Madrone Vineyard Management, Sonoma, California. Madrone Vineyard Management is owned and operated by Clarence and Becky Jenkins. Day-to-day operation of Bonino Estate Vineyards is under the supervision of Vineyard Supervisor, Linda Marquez-Hale.

Root Stock

Our root stock is 110R and the clone is Cabernet Sauvignon 337. We use sustainable farming practices to limit the amount of herbicides and pesticides we introduce into the environment. We are into our second year of a three-year program to become certified organic. We maintain permanent cover crop to help control vine vigor, soil tilth and fertility.
